Educational Opportunities
Environmental Moments
A member provides conservation tips at selected meetings.
Design Moments
Floral and garden design techniques are given by a member at selected meetings.
Horticultural Moments
Members provide unique garden techniques related to horticulture at selected meetings.
Plant Roadshow
Members volunteer to bring in a plant to each monthly meeting (one plant per meeting) for evaluation similar to what might be received at the district's flower show in March.
Club Meetings
Most club meetings include an opportunity to acquire new information or to learn new skills.

Landscape Design School - Course IV
April 28-30, 2010
The purpose of the National Garden Club (NGC) Landscape Design School is to develop an appreciation of the environment, both natural and built. The curriculum, in a series of four courses, covers a wide range of subjects: from landscape design history to landscape architecture.
Michigan Garden Clubs, Inc.
Members of the Meridian Garden Club are given automatic membership in the Michigan Garden Clubs, Inc. and are eligible to attend all the educational opportunities offered in the state. They may earn specialized distinctions related to flower show judging, flower design, landscape design, environmental consulting, gardening consulting, or master gardening. The next state convention will be held in Battle Creek on May 25, 2010.
District IIB
Members are encouraged to attend events sponsored by District IIB (a division of Michigan Garden Clubs, Inc.). Events include fall and spring meetings, a variety of specialty courses, and an annual flower show.
IIB Designers' Guild
The purpose of the design guild is to provide guided learning on selected aspects of floral design. Meetings are scheduled quarterly at the DeWitt Fire Station, 911 West Main Street, DeWitt.
