Our Mission
To stimulate a knowledge and love of gardening, landscape design and floral design, encourage home and community beautification, promote good horticultural practices, provide education and resources, encourage protection of our environment and conservation of our natural resources, and to promote the programs of the Michigan Garden Clubs, Inc. and the National Garden Clubs, Inc.
Club Collect
Keep us, O God, ever mindful of nature’s generous bounty.
May we always bear in mind it is ours in trust,
to protect, to nurture, and to enjoy.
...Mrs. C. C. Caswell
Conservation Pledge
I pledge to protect and conserve the natural resources of the planet
and promise to promote education so we may become caretakers
of our air, water, forests, land and wildlife.
Club Flower
The Iris...honoring our founders who, in 1931, planted yellow iris along the banks of a new road opened in Pere Marquette Township. Remnants of these flowers can still be seen every year on Iris Road. In Greek mythology, Iris was the messenger of the gods between heaven and earth, and the personification of the Rainbow. Tall, slender and scepter-like, the iris has been associated with royalty for centuries.
